Marketing 101: give your customers a great experience

Although the internet has been operating as an online shopping resource for over a decade, there are still many websites who operate their online business as if it was a store front on the local highway. If your marketing plan requires your customers to contact you if they want the most basic information, they are going to go to your competition and find the information they need online.
Some websites even require the customer to email a copy of the PayPal transaction in order to get access to the download link for an e-commerce product such as a book or report. This kind of marketing strategy is losing you customers. There are some very low cost providers of payment and downloading services that your clients should not have to do any work in order to get their product.
People want instant gratification. They want to pay for their product with the least number of clicks possible, one single click is the preferred payment choice, and, they either want an instant download or, an instant message telling them their payment has been processed and their product will be delivered in 'X' number of days.
Don't make your clients do any work. Look at what the big online vendors are doing with their 1-click payment systems and online customer support. This is what people expect when they go to any website to purchase products and if you don't offer simplicity they will look elsewhere until they find it.
